CSR Scandals: Nike Vs. Volkswagen

The evolution of the Corporate Social Responsibility philosophy is well exemplified by how this article shares two companies’ approach to how they were doing business and the challenges faced even after addressing significant CSR issues.  The Internet offers the ability to instantly learn about and share bad (and good!) news about a company’s behaviors, therefore it has helped the business world recognize the need to be good citizens.  We define “good citizen” as a company’s operating philosophy focuses first on its employees, its customers and society overall.  For companies this requires a 180-degree philosophical change, where a “winner-take-all” approach is replaced with a belief that “everyone can win.”

Nobody loses when everyone wins.  #csrmatters
